On June 25,Xiaomi´s official Weibo account announced that its AI smart glasses will be officially released this Thursday. Based on the promotional video, the Xiaomi AI glasses not only support first-person perspective video recording but also allow users to control functions via the Xiao Ai voice assistant.
According to well-known tech blogger Digital Chat Station, Xiaomi defines its AI glasses as “a balance of cutting-edge style and practical use,” calling it the best localized AI experience product so far.
In terms of hardware, Xiaomi AI glasses largely adopt the top-tier supply chain used by Apple and Meta. It is the industry’s first product to feature the dual-chip combination of Snapdragon AR1 and BES2700H, which enhances battery life while maintaining user experience.
Positioned to compete with Meta’s Ray-Ban smart glasses, Xiaomi’s product focuses on AI-powered photography and video recording, rather than AR headset capabilities. This category—AI + camera glasses—is currently the best-selling segment in the global smart glasses market. Meta is also riding the wave, with a new co-branded model with Oakley set to launch at $499.
Digital Chat Station noted that AI glasses have so far been developed mostly by smaller companies in China, and the industry has been waiting for a top 5 tech giant to step in and drive the category forward. Xiaomi is already a global top 2 player in both wearables and TWS earbuds—if it captures the AI glasses market too.
