On the afternoon of August 14, HTC officially launched a new product under its VIVE category, the VIVE Eagle AI glasses. This is the company's first smart glasses. The official website lists the suggested price at 15,600 TWD (approximately CNY 3,729). The glasses are currently only available in Taiwan, offering multiple sunglass lens options, and orders can be placed on the official website until August 31.
According to the official information, the VIVE Eagle AI glasses weigh 42.8g without lenses (48.8g with lenses) and feature adjustable nose pads for all-day comfort. The product uses an open-ear design with large drivers and virtual bass, providing rich sound while minimizing sound leakage.
The VIVE Eagle is equipped with a 12MP ultra-wide camera capable of 3024 × 4032 photo resolution and 1512 × 2016 video at 30 fps. Battery life supports up to 4.5 hours of continuous music playback, with standby time exceeding 36 hours, and it can reach 50% charge in just 10 minutes.
Functionally, the glasses can capture clear images in any environment, with AI auto-leveling and blur detection to capture the best moments. To protect privacy, photo and video functions automatically disable when not worn or when the LED is covered. The glasses also support instant translation.
For AI features, the VIVE Eagle can access Google Gemini and OpenAI GPT (Beta), helping with tasks such as recording parking locations, to-do lists, and assisting people with face recognition difficulties. Daily life features include seamless integration with smartphone assistants for checking weather, making calls, playing music, and finding locations.
It is important to note that the VIVE Eagle AI glasses require a smartphone for use and need the VIVE Connect app, available on Google Play or the App Store, to complete setup.
