By category, online sales of VR devices grew slightly by 10% year-on-year, accounting for 32.3% of the XR market. AR devices performed more strongly, with a 121% year-on-year increase in sales and a stable 67.7% share of the XR segment.
In the AR market, major players like TCL RayNeo, XREAL, Dream Smart, Rokid, and VITURE continued to lead.
Although April saw a slight slowdown in retail growth, May has already brought several major developments: TCL RayNeo launched the binocular full-color waveguide AR glasses X3 Pro and the Birdbath-style Air 3S; at Google I/O, Google announced partnerships with XREAL, Gentle Monster, and Warby Parker to launch AR and AI glasses based on Android XR and powered by Gemini AI; Rokid Glasses are also set to officially launch in the domestic market in Q2.
RUNTO notes that the wave of new product launches and active involvement from major tech players signal that, starting in Q2, the XR market—especially in AR and AI glasses—is poised for an accelerated growth phase.
